A legacy piece of 22+ year old Brazilian Rosewood. We acquired our Brazilian rosewood stock in 1988. In all likelihood it is much older. Air dried in a temperature and humidity controlled environment since acquired. It is ready to be the centerpiece of a very special project. This is some of the most unusual coloring we've seen in 25 years of buying and selling Brazilian rosewood. Red, brown, tan, golden, black and all shades in between. Generously sized to fit Fender 34" bass scale (and many many more).
The genuine article--no stump wood, salvaged wood or heavily wax-dipped wood, (none of these types are well suited for building a musical instrument). Our stock was cut from live standing timber. Baseball card bubble gum scent when sawn or sanded.
The blank is luthier-friendly and will require very little, if any sanding. No wasted time or expensive sawdust. The board was wiped with Stewmac Fretboard finishing oil. For some builds, there will adequate material to create a bound fingerboard.
A couple of our Brazilian fingerboards were recently displayed at the Anaheim Winter NAMM show. Simply put, this is as good as it gets.
